Listen with your Heart - Pocahontas

I am a very outdoorsy person, and I honestly wish I would have been born in the time where there was no development on our Earth at all.  The time where we lived off the planet without destroying it, and we listened to what nature had to say. The movie Pocahontas was a great piece of art with respect to the beautiful score and the wonderful animations.  Stephen Schwartz is a true genius in my opinion.  He is the man responsible for the well known songs like "Colors of the Wind" and "Just around the River bend", but he is also not as well known for composing songs such as "Listen with your Heart".  

This song contains such an important message that we should be aware of.  And that is to listen to nature.  The lyrics are "Que que natura, you will understand".  This means that if we listen to nature we will understand.  Without protecting our planet, how can we protect our people.  That is why I love this song to death.  I hope you like is as much as I do!

Your Making My Dreams Come True - Hall and Oates

Who doesn't love some classic 80s music.  This is one of those songs you cannot help getting up and dancing to.  It is also extremely hard not to sing along to it.  I don't remember the first time that I heard this song, but I do remember dancing to it on numerous occasions.  If your mad about something, turn on this song, it is bound to improve your day!

 

A River Flows in You - Yiruma

This is the most beautiful piano song I have ever heard.  Whenever I listen to this song, I forget about all of the stress in my life and just enjoy the music.  The amount of talent that went into composing and playing this song amazes me.

A Drop in the Ocean - Ron Pope

This is my favorite song at the moment.  Like always I heard about this song in a pretty random way.  I was in class and we were watching a student made video about feelings on the BP oil spill in the Gulf.  I found this song to be very powerful as part of the video.  Ron Pope also as a great voice, and he carries so much emotion throughout the entire song.  I hope you love it as much as I do!

I love music.  It's what has gotten me though good times and bad.  That's why i'm writing this blog and sharing some great music.
